so i made dinner plans after work today.  weeknights are always hard, you never know what firedrill might come up right as i'm trying to escape for the night....anyways, i ended up getting caught up on something and was running late.  my gas tank was pretty empty but i'm used to filling up when the light goes on...so i figure i'll do it after dinner.

i ended up at dinner for almost three hours, we just got caught up talking and stuff.  i'm leaving and realize i left my wallet in the office.  as i'm driving away in food coma i also realize, crap! i still need to fill up gas. its pretty late and i dont want to get stranded.  but no wallet = no money.

usually i have a couple bucks and some change for meters in my car but geez with gas prices so high now...i should've upped the stash. 

so fricken embarassing but i had to roll up in the gas station window (with other strangers around) and put two dollar bills plus another $1.65 in change scrounged up.  fill er up!

and by the time i get home, the gaslight is on again!

so one of the admins here is always making these smartass comments.  usually hilarious.  so one of her ongoing jokes is about this huge glass paperweight on her desk and how she considers throwing out through the glass window to break it and jump out.  well there was this weird guy in the office hanging out in the conference room all day.  reading magazines and basically sitting there.  a couple people noticed him but didnt really think much of it.  so he starts walking down the hallway and is standing there looking out the window.  so she sees him and says, well if you need some help, you can grab my paperweight and throw it thru the window and jump!

so the guy turns to her and says, actually, im trained to convince people not do do things like that.  apparently he was the grief counselor they hired for the day since some guy died on one of the teams...

umm...oops

security at my place is always pretty tight.  goes way back to the ceo being kidnapped years back.  anyways, one day the admin that sits around the corner from me came and warned me that she got some money stolen out of her purse.  so when we were talking she said i dont want to be judgemental but i totally feel like it was the lady who delivers the packages from shipping.  based mainly on the fact it was in the middle of the day, she's always here at a certain time on our floor and wouldnt look suspicious.  afterwards the lady who used to want to shoot the breeze would act weird around her supposedly.  she called security to report it even tho it was a small amount and they said they would review the hallway security cameras and let her know.  honestly i didn't really take it THAT seriously, i figured she left it out in sight or misplaced it maybe.  but i tried to be better at putting things away.

so its been over a month and nothing came of it but then an email went out to the entire site mentioning how there were some security incidents of money being stolen and they caught the suspect and they are gone.

the big puzzle was, would we see the shipping lady again?  its been a couple days and shes nowhere to be found.  now theres a new guy and we're told he's no longer allowed to enter our offices to put missed delivery notices.  and in case you think its just this place, a couple other people mentioned at their previous workplaces...similar stuff happened where things went missing.  one of my coworkers mentioned how they once did a sting operation with a hidden camera found one of the plant watering people slipping things under their equipment box.

crazy! so put those paperclips back and hide your valuables!

for someone who used to impulsively buy electronic gadgets and gizmos...i never had a tivo...until now!

my bro got me one for christmas and although setting it up was a pain, im loving it so far.  taping shows while im at work or trying new shows. anyways, i dont know what took me so long to see the light..hahaa

proj runway is probably one of the few shows i actually watch consistently.  this season is buggin me i can't explain it.  the challenges, the people, and the judging!
